At Ruskin Junior School we follow the National Curriculum in Science, IT and the other foundation subjects, but these are often taught through integrated topics. In this way the children are able to discover relationships between bodies of knowledge instead of learning in a fragmented way.

Planning and Recording

Detailed policies and schemes of work are designed to cover all the Programmes of Study of the National Curriculum. Each child’s progress through the levels of each Attainment Target is charted in the Teacher’s Record and in Individual Records.

Presentation

We place a strong emphasis on presentation believing that quality is of prime importance. Much of the children’s work is produced in the form of books which they have designed and made themselves choosing from a range of materials and techniques. It is expected that "best work" is always neatly written and grammatically accurate using correct spellings.
